Middle School at Carolina Hybrid

We recognize that Middle School is a huge time of transition.  Our Middle School program for grades 6th-8th is designed to bridge the gap between elementary and high school, seeking to boost student confidence and prepare students to handle more responsibility in life. Our upper school schedule for 2026/2027 will be available soon.

 Math Courses

  • Math 6 establishes a strong understanding of math skills necessary to build a foundation for Algebra and Geometry. It introduces the students to concepts that build their confidence in working with decimals, ratios, percentages, integers, and fractions. We will learn together the order of the incredible world God designed to work so perfectly together.

  • Math 7 is the exciting mathematical study which fully prepares a student for the next course in algebra. This course includes mastery-based study in the areas of the basics of algebra, integers, ratios, proportions, percent, geometry, probability, and statistics in addition to the advanced topics of linear equations and the Pythagorean Theorem. Students will be introduced to ideas first, then improve upon understanding through regular exercises.

  • This course develops a deeper understanding of arithmetic, geometric, and statistical concepts as well as expanding upon abstract algebra material. Math 8 is a mastery-based course and will cover topics from the real number system operations to linear functions to an introduction in Geometry. The main purpose of this course is to build strong foundational skills to help students succeed in future math courses. The math concepts in this course will be taught first, and will build understanding through regular and rigorous practice.

    • C or D in Math 7 or Pre-Algebra

 Science Courses

  • This general science course is the study of numerous scientists beginning in ancient Greece and proceeding through the 1990s. Scientists such as Archimedes, Galileo, Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, George Washington Carver, Einstein, and others, as well as the discoveries made by each one and their impact on science and life today, will be studied and discussed. The course also includes many experiments to demonstrate and test these scientists’ claims and discoveries. Students will receive introductions to biology, chemistry, and physics through the material.

  • The main goal of this course is to create joy in God’s creation and to prepare students for next-level science courses. Through reading and activities, students will become familiar with terms and processes that equip them with skills needed for critical thinking in high school. They will understand the importance of a Christian worldview, observe the world through the lens of creation, and gain an understanding of a loving God who cares for us so greatly that He has designed life and the world to meet our needs and reveal the beauty around us.

  • This course establishes a strong understanding of physical science. It introduces students to the foundational concepts of high school physics, including how to follow an accurate lab write-up. Real-life projects built by the student make scientific principles tangible and concrete.

  • This course covers world history from the Wars of the Roses (1455) to Isaac Watts (1707) with an emphasis on the Renaissance, Reformation, and Age of Exploration. This course will teach students to use analytical skills to identify and understand cause and effect throughout history. Assignments may include teacher-created resources, videos, and in-class activities. Tests will also be given regularly.

    Prerequisites:

    • Ability to read 2–3 pages in a textbook at a time

    • Ability to complete most work independently, with occasional help from a parent

  • This course covers world history from the early 1700s to the global War on Terror, with emphasis on the Age of Revolutions, Age of Imperialism, World Wars, and the Cold War.   • This 8th-grade US History course explores American civilization from pre-colonial times through the modern era from a Biblical worldview. Using America the Beautiful by Notgrass as our foundation, students will study people, places, landmarks, and significant events in US history.

    Students will engage through textbook study, focused lectures with fill-in-the-blank notes, historical simulations, short creative projects, and fun review games. This multi-faceted approach helps students connect with history and each other in meaningful ways while building analytical and communication skills rooted in a Christian perspective.

  • From the Anglo-Saxons to the Renaissance, from chivalrous knights to Genghis Khan, students will improve their knowledge of medieval times while learning to write with structure and style. Utilizing scripture, stories, and creative activities, students will thoughtfully engage with the truths set before them. In order to strengthen students’ confidence as they take on more difficult academic loads and to teach them discernment and responsibility as they interact with the digital world, students will also learn study skills and study digital citizenship. This course is part of a three-year rotation examining the biblical worldview of God and Truth, Self-Image, and Servanthood.

Options + Tuition

The following options are available on their own or may be combined. Many students are here for our hybrid program and enrichment day.

  • Available for Junior Kindergarten through 12th grade.

    Two full-day, core academic days: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30-3:30

    Tuition: $3000 per year, $200 enrollment fee, plus curriculum & supplies fee.

  • Enrichment is offered to our hybrid students or homeschool students. There are options available for kindergarten - 7th grade.

    • Four Rotations: 8:30-12:30

      • Tuition: $800 + $150 enrollment fee.

  • A la carte classes are offered for 6th-12th grade. All middle and high school classes may be taken as a single course. We also offer lunch and study hall options to best fit your student’s schedule.

    Tuition: $450 per class, $50 enrollment fee, $10 support fee, plus curriculum.

    The enrollment fee is capped at $250.

  • We offer a Math and Grammar + Writing Bootcamp to 5th-8th grade students who would benefit from a focused time in either or both of these areas. This is like a group tutoring opportunity, open to CHA students or homeschool students in the community.
